On October 11, 2019, under the escort of several CASCO signaling systems, the passenger dedicated line from Meizhou to Chaozhou-Shantou region officially entered into passenger-carrying operation, marking that the northeastern part of Guangdong was officially integrated into the “three-hour economic and living circle” of Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
Located in the east of Guangdong Province, Meizhou-Shantou Passenger Dedicated Line starts from Meizhou, passes through Jieyang, and ends at Chaozhou in the south. The line is 122.412km, with designed speed of 250km/h. Along the line, there are 7 stations, i.e. Meizhou West, Shejiang North, Fengshun East, Jieyang, Chaoshan Airport, and Chaoshan, 2 relay stations and a new Chaozhou High-speed Train Depot.

CASCO provided multiple signaling systems for the whole line, including LKD2-KA train control center, TSRS-KA temporary speed limit server and FZk-CTC3.0 centralized traffic control system, which will greatly improve the transport efficiency and provide a strong guarantee for the safe and stable operation of the train.
LKD2-KA is a train control center system independently developed by CASCO based on mature safety platform. With modular design and multiple redundant structure, the system has high safety, reliability and maintainability. The successful application of this system in Meizhou-Shantou Passenger Dedicated Line is the debut of CASCO LKD2-KA train control center system in China Railway Guangzhou Group. Before that, the system has been successfully applied in hundreds of stations of railway groups in Xi’an, Jinan, Kunming and Shanghai. Over the years, the system has been in safe and stable operation, winning wide recognition from users.
FZk-CTC 3.0 is a hit product of CASCO that has to be mentioned. As an industry-leading all-round integrated traffic control commanding system, FZk-CTC 3.0 is superior to traditional CTC systems in system performance, safety, adaptability and stability. It has led the innovation and development of dispatching command systems in the industry and has become the mainstream iteration product of CTC system. Since its first application in Hekou South Railway Station of China Railway Lanzhou Group in 2016, CASCO FZk-CTC 3.0 system has been widely applied in many railway lines across the country, and is available in more than 300 stations.
A speeding bullet train in joint test
CASCO has worked on this project for about a year since October 2018. During this period, faced with many difficulties such as tight project schedule and tough site working environment, the project team braved difficulties, worked overtime, and make double, concerted efforts to ensure the smooth delivery of CASCO’s first train control project in China Railway Guangzhou Group and to live up to customers’ expectations and trust.
The opening of Meizhou-Shantou Passenger Dedicated Line will put an end to the era when Meizhou didn’t have high-speed lines and lead cities along the line to more quickly integrate into the economic and living circle of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which is of great significance to promote the economic development of eastern Guangdong and the revitalization of Meizhou, an old revolutionary base area.
On the afternoon of October 31, CASCO, together with Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Shentong Group”), Shanghai Telecom, Huawei, Shanghai Communications Services and other partners, launched China’s first rail transit operation management platform based on 5G applications – “5G+ Intelligent Operation Command Platform”, which is the first customized application of CASCO’s “Fully Automatic Operation System 2.0” for intelligent metros since its official release in June this year. At present, the platform has been officially put into operation at East Xujing Station of Shanghai Metro Line 2, aiming to provide intelligent rail transit service for the success of the Second China International Import Expo.
At 10:00 a.m. on October 9, 2019, CASCO’s FZK-CTC3.0 centralized traffic control system with complete intellectual property rights was officially put into operation for Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway, the first heavy-haul railway in China. CASCO upgraded and transformed its original CTC system and assisted the successful reconstruction of signaling system, making it the first heavy-haul railway to be overhauled and renovated in China. It has not only greatly improved the freight capacity of the railway, but also set a new benchmark in the dispatching command of busy heavy-haul freight trunk railways with a capacity of ten thousand tons.
In September, Zhengzhou Metro Line 14 Phase I, Wuhan Metro Line 24, Shenzhen Metro Line 5 Phase II, Wuxi Metro Line 1 South Extension and Jinan Metro Line 3, all escorted by CASCO’s signaling system, have officially gone into operation successively. These lines are opened not only for the convenience of the people’s livelihood but also for the congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
