At 9:00 a.m., June 6, 2019, Nanning Metro Line 3 with CASCO’s Urbalis 888 signaling system was officially put into operation. It is the third metro line successively delivered by CASCO in Nanning after Line 1 and 2, indicating the “grand slam” for all lines in service in Nanning.
Metro Line 3 is the third line in service in Nanning rail transit network, with around 27.9 km in length, from Keyuan Avenue Station in Xixiangtang District in the north to Pingliang Flyover Station in Liangqing District in the south, covering a total of 23 stations. As a main line running from northwest to southeast, Metro Line 3 enhances the connection between the area north of Yongjiang River and Wuxiang New District, and meets strategic expansion needs of “completing the area north of Yongjiang River, improving the area south of Yongjiang River and focusing on southward development” in Nanning, and will play an important role in developing urban layout, improving rail transit network and further enhancing the position of Nanning.
CASCO has provided Urbalis 888 CBTC signaling system solution for Nanning Metro Line 3. For this project, CASCO, as a forerunner in leading domestic rail transit signaling industry into the age of LTE, applied LTE wireless communication technology again which took full advantage of 4G high-speed mobile communication network to achieve faster signal transmission, and meanwhile adopted special frequency bands to effectively improve the anti-interference performance of the communication network. This is also the first metro project involving LTE-supported signaling system in Nanning.
With outstanding performance in this project, CASCO was awarded with the title of “2018 Annual Excellent Equipment Manufacturer” by Nanning Rail Transit Co., Ltd. Driven by this, CASCO will continue contributing to the sustained and rapid development of Nanning’s urban mass transit and comprehensively ensuring the travel safety of local citizens, with its advanced and reliable system solutions and thorough life-circle services.
On the afternoon of October 31, CASCO, together with Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Shentong Group”), Shanghai Telecom, Huawei, Shanghai Communications Services and other partners, launched China’s first rail transit operation management platform based on 5G applications – “5G+ Intelligent Operation Command Platform”, which is the first customized application of CASCO’s “Fully Automatic Operation System 2.0” for intelligent metros since its official release in June this year. At present, the platform has been officially put into operation at East Xujing Station of Shanghai Metro Line 2, aiming to provide intelligent rail transit service for the success of the Second China International Import Expo.
On October 11, 2019, under the escort of several CASCO signaling systems, the passenger dedicated line from Meizhou to Chaozhou-Shantou region officially entered into passenger-carrying operation, marking that the northeastern part of Guangdong was officially integrated into the “three-hour economic and living circle” of Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
At 10:00 a.m. on October 9, 2019, CASCO’s FZK-CTC3.0 centralized traffic control system with complete intellectual property rights was officially put into operation for Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway, the first heavy-haul railway in China. CASCO upgraded and transformed its original CTC system and assisted the successful reconstruction of signaling system, making it the first heavy-haul railway to be overhauled and renovated in China. It has not only greatly improved the freight capacity of the railway, but also set a new benchmark in the dispatching command of busy heavy-haul freight trunk railways with a capacity of ten thousand tons.
